In the icy wilderness of the Terminus Range, you may stumble upon one of Borderlands 4's most unique side missions, "Forgive Me." This particular quest isn't easy to find—it requires keen eyes, knowledge of the environment, and a willingness to appreciate a subtle fourth-wall break. Here's your guide to completing the mission, finding all its objectives, and collecting your rewards.
Mission Overview
Pickup Location: Badass Psycho in the hidden cliff location at Cuspid Climb, Terminus Range
Rewards: XP, Borderlands 4 Money, and Eridium
Finding the Mission
Unlike many other side missions in Borderlands 4, "Forgive Me" doesn't appear on your map as a typical quest marker. It's entirely up to you to discover the location, which can be found on a cliffside in the southern part of Terminus Range. Look for a large skull hanging over the edge—this marks the entrance to your next adventure.
If you've already unlocked the Reliquary Order Silo to the northwest, this will help cut down your travel time considerably, as it's close to the area where you need to go.
Climbing to the Mission Area
Once you arrive at the area on your map, start climbing the cliff. Along the way, you'll notice oversized bones scattered about—these are a hint that you're heading in the right direction. Continue up and enter the cave at the top, where you'll encounter a familiar sight: a skeletal claw, with a sword stuck in the ground. If this looks like something straight out of Dark Souls, you're not imagining it—it's a clear homage to the famous game.
Fight the Badass Psycho
As you explore the cave further, you'll be interrupted by a Badass Psycho emerging from a crevice. Prepare for battle, as this psycho comes with a soundtrack change—yes, the music shifts to signal that this encounter is something special.
Once you defeat the psycho, you'll find the Desecrated Bolt among the loot. Pick it up, and the mission will officially begin. You'll hear a mysterious voice from the bolt, a character named Myrmidon, who utters the cryptic words, "Zanzibart, forgive me." From here, your task is clear: Find Zanzibart's final resting place.
Fun Fact: Zanzibart was originally a joke from a Borderlands 3 writer, Sam Winkler. This joke evolved into an in-game meme, complete with its own lore, making the quest even more of a playful Easter egg.
Locate Zanzibar's Final Resting Place
To find Zanzibart's resting place, head north to the Stoneblood Forest in Terminus Range. You won't be given any hints on your map or HUD, so you'll have to rely on your own navigation skills.
Start at Claptrap Aeronautics Academy or Snowy Wells (if you've claimed it as a safe house) and move north. Eventually, you'll come across a massive cliff wall. Turn left and look for a small tower with Borderlands 4 Boost a grapple point. Use the grapple to swing across the gap and land on a ledge.
