One of the most important aspects of FC 26 is the art of defense. Although offensive play provides the best highlight reels, a good defensive player finds the most success. It is a relatively underexplored subject in the community with FUT 26 Coins but it has a bit of nuance to become a good defensive player. For fans of the series, there is a variety of legacy skills in this subject, however, with enough practice, even new players can become excellent defenders.

Becoming a good defensive player requires a lot more than just skill. It will force players to read situations, develop awareness, and great reflexes. Making it just as difficult as scoring goals on the offensive as it is to prevent goals on the defense.

One of the first lessons a player will need to learn is the ability to stay patient on defense. This means, going for that risky slide tackle immediately might not be the best approach to defending. Utilizing the powerful, jocking buttons, is a good way to establish your patient defensive play in a match. Performed by pressing L2 or LT, the jockey forces your player to move slower but makes their tackles more accurate and is useful in cutting off lanes. A good player will utilize the jockey button will establish an incredibly solid and patient defensive line.

Another lesson is to learn when and how to defend space and not the player. This means, to cut off an opponent's offensive lanes, and options. So rather than charging directly at an enemy taking a step back and stopping their drive down the line of the pitch. This idea is an extension of the importance of patient play, which leads nicely to learning when and how to switch defenders in order to effectively cover space. If you get a good read on an opponent switching to another defender and intercepting a pass can lead to a devastating counter-attack;. Being smart, patient, and observant with your defender switching can create a frustratingly impenetrable wall on defense.

The next generation of consoles is days away, and EA is revealing ahead of the launch how the new tech will boost its most popular games, including Apex Legends and Star Wars: Squadrons. Other titles will also be getting some performance enhancement through the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S via free next-gen upgrades or the consoles' backwards compatibility. How extreme the enhancements are will vary from title to title, but all of them will see a difference.

With more active gamers than ever, player concern remains focused on how current-gen titles will fare when the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S launch next week, especially considering backwards compatibility in previous consoles has never been particularly consistent. Publishers have been addressing concerns by releasing details on how its current games would hold up. EA is the latest publisher in a lineup of its peers to discuss how it plans to take its active library to the next generation.

EA revealed on its blog which titles will receive a full next-gen facelift and which will be taking advantage of the next-gen consoles' beefed-up technology. This year's  EA lineup, as well as The Sims 4 and its upcoming expansion Snowy Escape, will be available on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S via backwards compatibility. They'll also see improved framerates and loading times.

Players who have already purchased Madden NFL 21 or FC 26 will also get a free upgrade to the next-gen editions when they launch on December 4. Details on Apex Legends, beyond adding crossplay support, are a little more sparse, with EA promising a "performance with  cheap Fut 26 Coins boost up to 1440p, with more formal enhancements planned for next year." Apex Legends already ran at a dynamic 1440p, so this likely just means that, on the next-generation consoles, it'll stay at that level instead of dropping intermittently to 1080p.
